This year we're asking Steve's Friends & Family to join VIPS for their annual 5k run/walk, which helps to raise funds to continue the quality programs at VIPS. If you can participate, please register and join us at The Louisville Zoo (and stay after the race to enjoy the zoo for free!) CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR THE STAMPEDE Make sure you select "Stampede for Steve" in the drop down box titled "Credit this event registration to this team or individual"
*UPDATE!* We have gone above and beyond our initial goal of $500 for The Stampede for Steve! Let's raise the bar and shoot for at least $2,000! Don't forget to register to walk/run at the Stampede on Sept 30th.
If you can't participate, please donate what you can! And if you can't give financially, please consider giving your time and volunteering at the 5k. If you'd like to volunteer please email Dani Harper dharper@vips.org and she'll send more info. We're hoping to reach our goal of $500 dollars in memory of Steve!
The Steve Molter Family & Friends Fund has already raised over $17,000.00 for VIPS! These funds go directly towards the education of blind and visually impaired children throughout the entire states of Kentucky and Indiana. The educational support that VIPS provides includes early intervention programs, parent/infant classes, day care/preschool consultations, and parent support groups. VIPS also has a world renowned, one of a kind full-time preschool facility in Louisville. VIPS was the first and continues to be the ONLY program of it's kind in Kentucky & Indiana.
Steve's niece Danielle has worked for VIPS for over 7 years and shared her passion with Steve. Even though he was battling aggressive cancer, Steve turned the negative into a positive and decided that his fight would do some good. He asked his friends, family, and co-workers to donate to VIPS instead of sending him flowers and goodie baskets while he was sick. His generosity and compassion helped bring the Steve Molter Friends & Family Fund to life and it has been growing ever since.
Join us in raising money for Visually Impaired Preschool Services! Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS) provides early intervention & education services to children who are blind/visually impaired through the very important early years of life when children are so ripe for learning.
This year's Stampede will include a VIPS Family Contest! The VIPS child (past or present) who has the most registered participants or donors before September 22nd for the Stampede will win a Prize Pack worth up to $150!
Pets not allowed per Louisville Zoo policy. Service animals always welcome. |
